The first couple of times I watched this they were playing ads for The Dark Knight Rising, which was a bit unpleasant after the multiple murder that happened in Aurora last week in a movie theater.
And just by coincidence I had stopped by a car dealer about 8 PM a few miles from where the shooting would occur later at midnight. Spooky. I was creeped out by the area anyway, with its odd mix of new suburbs, seedy types wandering around, and gangster rap booming from cars, and high-tailed it home ASAP. Auroraghetto indeed.
I'm old, too - so I totally don't get it! :) But I like the beat!!
ReplyDeleteThe area around where the theater is isn't particularly "good" and I stay away from there (there was a stabbing many years ago at Aurora Mall). But a few weeks ago, my son wanted to see some one-time-showing marching band thingie and it was only showing at this theater or one a good hour away from me, so we went to this one. I was actually pleasantly surprised how nice the theater was - very clean and friendly staff. I think with University Hospital moving in nearby, the area is improving slightly....a couple years ago, it was all scary.
Yep - that's where Kathleen goes to the hospital in Denver - UCH. Get two blocks out in either direction and it is ultra-spooky. And sad...
